Amazing

Crooks are amazing! Just last week a group of thieves taking advantage of New York’s no-fault policies (which pays drivers up to $50,000.00 per person for injuries suffered in car accidents was busted by an antifraud team. Operating in east Flatbush, Brooklyn, and Rosedale Queens, these fraudsters recruited doctors to front as owners of clinics in the five boros. They, in turn, bill insurance companies for treatments never performed and equipment never used. Related in the Bronx, Medicare and Medicaid fraud was uncovered which was part of a scam for claims of $15,000.00 for motorized wheel chairs and accessories never delivered. Among the string of other fraudulent activities, the so-call Lenox Clinic, was a medical fraud mill brought down by an insurance investigatory team. The outfit which took in more than six million dollars was lead by one Alla Smirnov and twenty-four others who were netted in the indictments. Good work to all those involved… In our next issue we will be reporting on Kingstone Insurance’s 100th Anniversary, held up in Kingston New York this past week. John Reiersen is having a great month as he has just been named PIANY’s Man of the Year, and will be receiving that award shortly… Senator Kemp Hannon took the time to meet with 60 brokers on Long Island to discuss health insurance exchanges and the position of the broker in the exchange. Tom Faist, who represents the industry, filled out the pictures for the health and life insurance brokers who wondered where Obamacare might leave them. Senator Hannon as usual was a clear voice… William Fishlinger’s Future Leadership initiative proved to be a good gamble at Belmont Raceway to pony up dollars for the cause. He has devoted a great deal of his time to charitable work and as a consequence has set a tone for his company that continues to be upbeat, positive and constructive.
