Interview: Assembly Chair Morelle

New Yorks Insurance industry has been very pleased with the fact that Assemblyman Joseph D. Morelle, (D-Irondequoit) is the chair of the Assemblys Standing Committee on Insurance. He has been a knowledgeable force shaping legislation which has successfully balanced the needs of insurance consumers with the needs of the insurance industry. He has served as a refuge and sounding board for some in the industry when they are frustrated by increasing pressures placed upon them by regulators, taxing authorities or those public or private parties who see the insurance industry as having a big target on its back. He brings a fresh perspective to the allimportant job of Assembly Insurance Committee Chair, and he has met with general approval by all of that Committees members and constituents.
