BAYSHORE, N.Y., April 3 – Eric Brock, owner of Vigilant Blacktop, was arrested by the Suffolk County Insurance Crime Bureau on March 19 on a felony charge of violating the workers compensation law.

Authorities said Brock defrauded the New York State Insurance Fund out of $11,600 in premium in 2006 by concealing the fact that he had four workers on his payroll while he was covered under the fund. When the fund eventually cancelled the policy for non-payment, he had a total outstanding balance of $18,000.

At the time of this writing, Brock was awaiting further court action.
