HAMILTON, Bermuda, May 22 – Ironshore Inc., a Bermuda-based underwriter of specialty insurance lines, has entered the professional liability sector.

The company said that it has launched IronPro, which is based in New York, to focus initially on directors & officers liability. IronPro will be led by Greg Flood, who has 25 years of experience in professional liability, mostly in various leadership capacities at AIG.

Ironshore added that IronPro is expected to introduce additional professional liability products in the near future.

Les Rock, president of Ironshore Insurance, said, Our new entry into the professional liability insurance sector reflects Ironshores ability to implement a sound business strategy in response to changing market conditions and competitive opportunities. This expansion is consistent with our original plans to offer products beyond property and property catastrophe coverages.
