Joseph DioGuardi Banks Bid for New Yorks Senate Seat on Financial Strengths, Experience

JOE DIOGUARDI, CPA, former Republican congressman, announced his bid for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D) at a press conference in Grand Central Station accompanied by his TV personality daughter, Kara and a host of loyal fans. He recounted the story of his progress, from his time behind the cash register at his familys food market in the Bronx and as a waiter in Westchester working his way through Fordham University, to his 22-year professional career in an international accounting firm and his tenure in the U.S. Congress, He is running for Senate on the strength of his views on financial discipline and family values. During his four-year tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, Joe authored the CFO Act, which assigned a Chief Financial Officer to each major department and agency in the federal government. As the first practicing CPA elected to Congress, Joe introduced legislation to shore up the financial weaknesses in government accounting, budgeting, financial management and reporting.
